I had my ICL surgery done last week and could not be happier! My prescription was slightly above -12 and I maxed out in the prescription for daily soft lenses. I did my first consult over four years ago but between two pregnancies, nursing, and a pandemic, I never got a chance to move forward until now. The procedure itself is relatively painless. The second eye stung a bit when they put in the drops but that was the extent of pain you experience. Nothing a long term contact user cant handle. After the procedure your eyes just feel tired. I took several naps before knocking out for the night. Almost immediately after surgery, I could see better than I could with my contacts. They put shells over your eyes for the first 24 hours but I had my eye pressure checked around 3 hours post surgery and I got a glimpse of 20/20 life! The most challenging things about the process have been unrelated to the surgery itself. You have to stay off your contacts for 3 days before the pre-op appointment and again before the surgery. After the surgery, no bending/lifting above 15lbs for two weeks (challenging with two young kids so make sure you have a support system set up). I had some hesitation about the procedure because I was told by another well known surgeon that I was not a good candidate. Danielle scheduled two zoom calls for me with Dr. Lin and he assured me that I was a perfect candidate! Im so glad I listened!
